So, I've tried the following man made baits: Danny Kings(original, blood, garlic) Lewis Kings Big Marvs Secret7 Bills Brains & Cheese Premo Dip Bait and some other random baits I've come across(haven't tried SureShot or Rednecks Catfish Bait Soap yet, but I'll give em a shot once I get my hands on em.).... Now, I want to try making some baits. I just finished making the following: 1 box. (20oz.) Corn flakes (cheapest brand you can find) 4 oz. Colby or Cheddar cheese (grated) 4 oz. Honey 3 cups flour 1 pk. cherry Kool Aid (pk. size - to make 2 quarts) 3 tblsp. Garlic powder 1 tsp. Anise oil 2 cups water Instructions for mixing Pour corn flakes in a VERY LARGE bowl and crush finely. Add flour, cheese, Kool Aid, garlic powder & honey. Add water and anise oil to the mixture. VERY IMPORTANT: Knead mixture until it is smooth (about 10 min.). Shape into a large pancake, smooth a little flour on both sides of the pancake and put into a 1 gal. size "Zip Lock" bag. Put into the freezer and it is ready to go. We'll see how it works tomorrow at Tawakoni!! It smells pretty good I found the recipe online.... anyone have any they have tried and wanna share?

Ohhhhh, I forgot to mention. I found that Zote soap too. I've read on here some folks have tried it with some luck. I'll let everyone know how we do with what baits later today

5 gallon bucket 1/4 full of range cube, 1 gallon sour wheat, fill to 6" above cubes with water cover and let sit covered for 3 days (may need to add more water to get it to swell right). Take out a lrg handfull add more wheat (no water), sugar and flour. This is the basis and you can add whatever else you want. Work it together till you can make a ball the size of a #8 treble hook and it holds it texture. Store in a jar or ziplock. You can add flour to the rest of the 5 gallon bucket and use it for making baseball size chum and more bait. This makes ALOT of bait. Take a ziplock with with flour in it to harden if it gets to soft.

So the bait I made didn't work good- then again NOTHING worked good for me. I had a horrible trip lol. I'm guessing this bait would have done better if I was near fish :p
It stayed together really well, kept consistency and stayed on the hook great though.
