There were two or three stumps in the boat lane between Shirley Creek and the School Bus that were barely sticking out of the water. I wish I would have marked them on GPS. Maybe the lake will come up a few more feet and they won't be a problem.

I was thinking the same thing Kudzu... With the lake up a foot they should be just out of sight.

Kudzu, what GPS do you use? And does it have the lake map on it.... If so when your running in the boat lane through there does it show your not in the lane on the GPS? My H20 with the Hot Spots Elite shows i'm not in the lane when I know I am... And when I get down there toward 103 bridge I had a hard time finding the lane...

Went across the 103 bridge yesterday morning and it seems most of the boats are around the bridge area. Not sure if they were catching fish or not but that is usually a sign that they are. Plenty of vehicles at Ewing ramp also. I also noticed that my commisioner has not got down there to clean the mud and etc. off of the ramp. Will give him a call today to find out why. Here is a link to keep up with the level on Rayburn.

Anglin Texan,
I pretty much spent all that my wife would let me spend on a fish finder and multiple switches and wiring to fix up our '87 Tracker, so I usually just borrow a hand-held GPS from my partner. My brother and I noticed the stumps in the boat lane, when a larger boat passed us going in the opposite direction. We both hoped that the other boat would see the stump and avoid it. He did. I have never used the lane, until this year, thanks to some tips from the forum. I am anxious to see if I can stay in the lane once the water level comes back up.

OK... I've only been up that way once.. GPS may have just been off that day. I almost didn't notice one of the stumps.
Thanks for that link again Kit, I was gonna ask you what it was.. I saw you post it in the past but couldn't find it. (changed computers and lost all my favorite sites)

Anglin Texas, you are more than welcome. I enjoy doing these type things for the guys and never get tired of it. You live in Zavalla so you are not that far from me and we need to get out on the water one day soon.

Yeah, Will defently take you up on getting on the water!! I was gonna go this weekend but my truck rear axle is making more noise than I can ignore now, so I gotta deal with that. I've driven by your place a few times..(sometimes I take 2109 instead of 69) And i've seen you out on the road a time or to (if you drive the Brown Bronco with the sidewinder stickers on the rear side glass) I've been wanting to come by and pick up some puddle jumpers but it seems like something always comes up.

Didn't mean to Hijack your post Kudzu,
Cyrus

Anglin, that's me. Stop by anytime you can. We did get a lot of rain last night. Down pour is more like it, but we need it and so do the lakes. I hope the Toledo Bend area is getting the rain as well.

Here's another link that will show some of the other variables like inflow and release with about a 3 month history.

Anglin, I just bought me a iFinder Hunt C along with the Fishing Hot Spots Elite right after New Years and I have the same problem about being out of the the boat lane when I slap dab in the middle. Luckly I bought it when the lake was down and could see the lanes good and the several hazards in the middle. Now I have them marked on my gps. I will add that the rivers and creeks seem to be fairly accurate though. By the way what is the best positioning average you get with your unit? Mine is usually around 25-30'.

Also my rain gauge showed 3 1/2" rain last night. Water was over the road in several places comin home last night.

My positioning is usually about the same... It has gotten down to a few feet at times though. My rain gauge showed 4 1/2" This morning!!

Is there anyone we could contact about getting rid of those stumps in the middle of the lane?
Good to hear that you guys are getting all that rain.
