Found em, in good numbers and in respectable size, lower end of lake, 10-12 ft down, 14 ft of water, in and around my sunken Christmas tree piles!

Red/chartreuse tube jig, on unpainted jig head.

Bite was on 11 AM-2 PM!

One VERY RESPECTABLE stringer headed home to the freezer! No not me, I gave mine away to the guy who went with me! All keepers were 11-13 inches long, and FAT!

And wouldn't you know it, FORGOT MY CAMERA!!!

'Bout time!

GO FIND YOUR OWN!

Rudy

Rudy: Good to hear Bachman is heating up. Shoot me an email sometime and we'll get together at the creek.

PS: My last email to you got bounced.

Good to hear there is crappie in buchannan. I grew up fishing buch with my grandfather, caught a ton of whites but always wanted to fish for crappie. Not asking for you to give up spots, but were on the lake would you look for crappie structure. Our place is right near Black Rock Park.

Are you and Rudy talking about the same lake? Rudy is talking about Bachman Lake in Dallas. I noticed you spelled the lake name different.

Too much work and not enough fishing is adversely affecting my thinking skills.

My grandfather has fished there for some 50+ years and he claims that they used to catch them all the time at the bridge in beaver creek (pretty sure it is presentday silver creek) but we have had a brush pile outside our cove for about 10-12 years and I cannot find them. Guess I just need to call in sick and go look..

If you do go and look, try going during the day and fish shaded spots.

I have fished some docks on Travis with success but have had better luck in recent weeks fishing during bright sun in shaded areas of docks with some structure under the docks.

Things may change though with the cold fronts as water temps begin to cool more.

I have also had some buds tell me about several spots on Buch for crappie, but have yet to catch one on Buch this fall.
