I'd call that a draw!

People can be absolute idiots. Don't dump some non-native species in the wild just because you cannot care for it! Friggin' morons! mad

I guess if a 13ft python can swallow a 6ft gator then a 6ft man would be easy prey. I do not think I will be wade fishing in Florida any time soon. Roland better watchout!!

I'm a snake lover but this is just crazy. Burmese pythons are one of the most awesome snakes on the planet. Very few people have the skills to care for a 20 ft python. It's kinda like the person who buys the cute little baby iguana and then realizes that they have a 5 ft vegetarian with an attitude problem. I totally support ownership of these animals because some people are willing to take the time and precautions necessary to keep them. But when an inexeperienced owner realizes he can't handle it anymore he needs to find an approriate home or have it euthanized. We don't need anymore introduced species wrecking havoc. bang

I only smell like fish cuz I've been fishin...

Thats like me and my pit bull. Shes a sweetheart, other than the fact that she likes to eat other female dogs. Makes for a lot of work but she's worth it, and i knew what I was getting into with a pit. Now if she ever decides to start eating female children! We may have a problem there.

When I was much younger and in the USMC, I had a live in girlfriend that worked for animal control. We were in S. California and her dad bred red tail boas, ball pythons and a few other smaller breeds. We had a burmese for a few years.

Once we took it to the vet and it started to climb up the wall. Her father grabbed it, wrapping his arms around the snake and holding the snake to his chest. It literally picked him up off the floor as it climbed the wall. It was over 16 feet long at that point and it was larger around than a large mans thigh.

He sold it to another breeder and never messed with burmese pythons again after that. One person may handle a python, but only because the python is letting you. If the python turns, you have no recourse and are absolutely helpless.
