Shawn,

I was out at Johnson Branch creek area Sat am (with all the wind). We were fishing in about 2-6 feet of water with minnows, but only caught two. It was real slow, without many hits at all. THe week prior, we brought home 16 (and they were delicious). We'd done the same thing in the same area the week prior. No clue why they werent hitting. Good luck though. I'd like to go back this coming weekend if I can figure out where they'll be.

Shane,
I was at Buck Creek the last two nights. Not huge success, but ended both nights with 10 keepers. All around 12 inches, all very fat, with less than 5 throw backs. All caught on blue/white jigs pretty shallow, and a couple on live minnows at about 6 ft of water. Any tips on catfish at Ray Rob's?
thanks

Glad to hear the 'Dead Sea' might be producing a few fish again - Geez, RR has not been impressive this spring.

Caught 6 or 7 catfish with stink bait in about 8' water near the shore in Buck Creek last week. Smallest was about 12" and largest about 2 1/2 lbs. Good filets. Tried stink bait under bridge and had a few bites and one carp about 10 lbs.

We have been catching a lot of crappie at Ray Roberts. Go fish the Pier at night and you will catch a lot. I have caught so many fish there already this year. I was using jigs on one pole and minnow on the other. They have also been catching them at 922 in Valley View.

My girlfriend and I fished the 922 bridge near Valley View Sat. Didn't have much luck. Caught two keepers and four or five throwbacks. All caught on minnows. Where is the pier mentioned earlier?

Hey Tracy, by pier u mean the statepark pier right? Also, I went out tonight with a few buddies at buck creek again. The front came through and screwed it up for us, but with the light rain we caught around 14 keepers in less than 2 hours, after the wind came through, nothing else. also tried catfish, not a thing. What kind of stink bait do you recommend?
thanks

Its the pier in Isle Du Bois, hope I spelled that right. I will be there friday night. Buck creek is very good fishing if you have a boat. We used to catch a lot out there in the summer after the spawn. Try using some shad for those catfish. Thats what I always catch them on out there.

When you were fishing at 922, were you fishing the two bridges or the slew before you get to the 2 bridges.

We got our stink bait at the Buck Creek Store. It had a red label in a white bucket. In addition, we haven't had great luck under the bridges but have caught a few. Second pier from South at Buck Creek worked pretty well last week.

Yeah Tracy, you're right. The place we fished was not technically at a bridge. It was actually box culverts under 922, so it is probably the "slew" you referred to in your post. I would like to try the pier you mentioned.

Fished the 3002 bridge twice this year with no luck. Tried 3rd set of piers then between 6 and 7. Very few fish on either but that was a month ago.
