Does anyone know a site that shows how to tie a bobber stopper knot for a slip bobber?

I don't know of a site that shows it, but I bought some bobber stops from BPS that does't require a knot. Its a little rubber bead that slips on the line. They work great.

Just use a piece of thin rubber band and an over hand knot. I would only use a slip bobber if your fishing deeper than 6ft.

I respectfully disagree...casting a jig and cork with 3-5 foot of line in between them is a PITA...very awkward......I use a slip float for 1 to 6 feet and the bobber stop with the slip on bead and rubber stop is the way to go.

They sell float stops like the one listed on the UK site at WalMart. They are loosely tied on a short piece of plastice straw and are fast and easy to slip on you line, tighten, and trim the ends when tight. Ten costs about $1.80 here.

You could prefab your own and put them in one of the little ziplock craft bags. We just tied some mono on the line above the float for years. These are fast and convient when your are re-rigging after having to break your line when hung on the cover so dear to crappie.

I prefer using a slip float anytime I use a float. You can shoot it just like a jig, into tight spots or under docks.

I use both the pretied nail knots and the rubber stops. Both work well. On the pretied, don't pull it too tight or you can damage your line and not be able to adjust it. (trim the ends off)

Come to Oklahoma and fish Oologah Lake with me and I'll show you how to tie a bobber stop knot.
Good crappie lake!

I grew up using the pencil floats for crappie that were available during the 50's & 60's. I was hooked on slip floats the first time I used them.

PITA?????

I'm not saying you can't, go ahead! Booger up the rig and you'll be spending more time re-rigging. Two types I use for shallow water is a pencil, and a rattle pear. Pencil for when I know their there, and a pear(7/8-1inch) for when I'm searching. For most kids, beginners, slip floats can be troublesome. I feel that slip bobbers work better for deeper water applications like bridge pillings, channel drops, down wind of a 15ft brush pile and let it creep over, rip-rap, and night fishing. For shooting docks you need to be a rod slinger! cyclop One other thing, have you checked out a cast-a-bubble. They can work good as well, use them as a slip or fixed. Hope this helps justifing

PITA = Pain in the Arse.....

Curious as to how one boogers up a slip float? If anything, a slip float lessens the chances of boogering anything up.

Personally I do a lot of casting with jig and cork. Casting that set up with 3-5' of line between the jig and cork would certainly lead more to this boogering up than casting the jig and cork together as one unit and letting it slip once it hits the water.....but that's why we live in America....we each have opinions and we're free to practice them how we see fit. thumb
