Hey everyone, I just wanted to know a little more about jigs. I have never fished a jig before and would like to know, what should I start out with in order to be able to get comfortable with jigs, are there certain techniques when it comes to jig fishing? What conditions are good for using a jig ? How are they fished? and how does one rig a jig. Thanks in advance everyone for the help

Jigs statistically catch more big bass than anything else. They are worth learning how to fish and my go to set up when fishing unfamiliar waters. I fish football jigs either 3/8 or 1/2 oz depending on depth. Just tied em up i use a palomar or trilene knot. cut the weed gaurd to just above the point to keep it from interferring too much with the hook set attach a trailer chunk. i use strike king rage tails in a matching color and just pop it along the bottom. fish it slow. pop it once or twice. wait. patience. good luck.

there isnt a wrong way to fish a jig.the biggest thing I can tell you is to experiment with trailer colors, trailers and skirts do not have to match.one of my fav combos in a garden pumpkin Black Angel combat flippin jig with a blk/blu trailer.

Fish is much like you would and in the same place you would fish a worm.
