It is the second cove to the east heading south from Pecan Creek Launch. I don't know if you could walk in from there? A person would have to search it out by foot? If you do, a little ways in the cove right to the inside of the point is a Corp Brush pile. Check it out on a topo map. Hope that helps. thumb

Ray Bob has been producing well for me in four to six feet of water. This pattern has been fairly consistent for the last three days. I have had better luck near large stumps with small cedars very close nearby.
Good luck.

Sounds good all. Think Fire Fisher and I are thinking of heading out next Monday, though it'll be warmer than a campfire by then (not that it isn't now). Good discussion by all.

Went to RR yesterday, and stuck mostly to corp.brush piles,I am fishing a tourny up there at the end of the month and wanted to log a few of those piles in my gps,I caught a lot of crappie but most were 8-9",I talked to a couple of guys who had been back in the river on the elm fork and they had thier limit, nothing bigger then 11" on the brush piles and no fat females so the shallow water and creeks are where they are now.

dice try here:

Cates Point - If you can find this point there is an old TPWD campground there. You can walk it with no problem. The west side of the point is all rock, gravel, clay shoreline. The cove has good timber.

I was out driving one day and just followed the roads I got off yahoo maps. It is off I-35 north of Sanger. Take 3002 east to 3442 and go south. The road will eventually dead into the old campground.

Great spot that not too many people know about. Excellent spot to see some wildlife and fish the shoreline.

I caught ten nice keepers yesterday evening before dark. Looked like it was going to be a great night. Things went sour when my crappie lights wouldn't work at dark. I guess they are Bass Pro shops disposable fishing lights....
oh well. They were still in shallow (4 to 6 ft.)

Yesterday's wind made jig fishing tough, but still managed to come home with a mess. I caught all my fish in 10 foot or less, but spoke with a guy at the ramp that has been catching crappie in 18 ft. right on the bottom.
good luck!

I went out thursday and caught 8 that were pushing 2 1/2 pounds. I was fishing in 9 foot of water in a honey hole of mine and the crappie just coulden't resist my blue and white jig. I will post a pic of my catch soon.
