JIG TYING SEMINAR. TUESDAY NOV. 18, 6:30-8:30PM. MARSHALL'S BARBECUE, JOSEY LANE AT ROSEMEADE IN CARROLLTON. WE WILL MEET AND TIE JIGS. I WILL BRING SOME JIG HEADS FOR YOU TO LEARN ON. I CAN'T MAKE IT! and I just posted something about how to tie a jig. Ernest, if I meet you at Marshall's some other time and buy your dinner will you show me some tips? I'm sure I could round up some other people.

I may try to make this one, and I have an extra vise for someone to start on.

You can buy all you need at academy usually, last time I looked they had taken out the fly tying tools for some reason. Bass pro has a kit and a good selection of supplies, and you can buy the tools/supplies at barlows. Hardest thing I have found is getting the 1/8 and 1/16 jig heads with a size 8 hook on it instead of a 6 or 4. I do not throw anything lighter than 1/16, but if I could find a jig head I like 1/32 with a size 8 hook I probably would.

SHARON, IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TIE YOUR OWN JIGS ANYWAY, I WOULD GET A VISE AND BOBBIN FROM BASSPRO. THEY HAVE A GOOD VISE FOR $20.00 AND A BOBBIN RUNS AROUND $5.00. ALSO GET A SPOOL OF WAXED THREAD, COLOR REALLY DOESN'T MATTER. A SMALL SCISSORS AND AN EXACTO KNIFE OR RAZOR BLADE WOULD BE HANDY.
