Will BTS hurt a Merc cowling. I have just started the three coat process on my boat. I want to make sure it won't hurt the cowling before I apply it. By the way, BTS is excellent and easy to apply. My boat looked fantastice after the first coat, looks even better after number two. After number three, I think I may have to hit with a sander to cut down the glare before I take it out the next time LOL.

I hope not. I've been using it on mine for about 4 applications. Looks great! I'm pretty sure you can use it on just about anything on your boat.

No it won't hurt it at all. What you will find is the water spots just wipe off. I use it all the time. This is the real advantage of BTS it works on all surfaces.

I used it on my cowling with no problems. Make sure to et the water stains off before it bakes on in the sun. Then it takes lime remover.

It says that you can use it on vinyl but I am a little skeptical. People thought that Amorall was the greatest thing going at one time. The problem with vinyl is it has to breathe and Armorall cuts off the air. I had a guy make a custom tonneau one time and when I told him I was going to use Armorall he came unglued. He showed me a car that he was redoing because the guy used Armorall.

You can absolutely use it on vinyl. I use BTS on my seats and they look like new. As a matter of fact, it has a high concentration of UV inhibitors which will help keep them from fading, the same as the gel coat of your boat. BTS is a polymer sealant which will keep dirt from getting into the pores. As a matter of fact, when you first apply to gel coat, you may see a white film appear. That is actually the contaminants in the pores coming to the surface. Clean your gel coat, seats, plastic, etc. first, and then apply the BTS. After the initial applications, you only have to re-apply every 30-90 days, depending on the condition of your boat. I think you will be more than satisfied with the results.

How long have you been using it on your seats? The fact that it gets in the pores is what I worry about. If you clog up the pores than the vinyl cannot breathe and it cracks. I would have to see some test results before I used it on vinyl.

I've been using it since the beginning of the year and it makes my seats look better than anything I've used in the past, but you need to use your own judgement regarding your concerns.

You can use it on seats with no worries. I put BTS on them and it made them shine, they don't get hot and you don't slide around like you would with Armour All.

How long have you been using it on your seats? The fact that it gets in the pores is what I worry about. If you clog up the pores than the vinyl cannot breathe and it cracks. I would have to see some test results before I used it on vinyl. Please allow me to jump in on this one. We spent 4 years developing and testing BTS before it came to the market. One of the major reasons that BTS was developed was specifically for vinyl protection. We saw how much trouble folks were having with their seats, tops and covers because of the stains and mold problems. In research, we found that it was the chemicals that were being used to clean the stains up that were doing the damage to these surfaces. The conventional products on the market are very harsh and toxic formulations. This is where the problem starts. These "cleaners are what destroys the fabrics. We figured that if you stop the staining from the get-go, the use of harsh cleaners wouldn't be needed. Makes sense doesn't it? Well that's what BTS is all about. Please read this link if you want to know more about BTS The BTS difference. Please remember that almost all the parts of a modern boat are made of some form of plastic (polymers). BTS is made of poly protectants and enhancers that are specifically targeted to protect these surfaces. You will find no petroleum components in BTS like are found in 90% of the other mainstream products talked about here. In most cases, these petroleum distillates are the culprits that create the problems that have been mentioned here. This is one of the reasons why BTS has been chosen by Legend and Phoenix boats as their officially recommend protectant and is supplied with all their boats starting the 2010 season. You will see many other manufactures doing the same in the future. I am confident that if you give BTS a try you will be a believer in short order. If not we will give you your money back...no questions asked. If you have a question, please ask me directly here or call me at: 972-221-9797. Rob Faddis, President RMR Industries

Any more "specials" coming in the future Rob? I guess I just missed the last one.
