I was hoping to find any spots around Trinity Bay that you can park and walk into some decent fishing. I'm boat-less, but love to fish. I know of one spot on Ocean Dr. (off of Tri City Beach Rd), but the bait is only there once or twice a month.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is a wild life refuge you can get to if you take I-10 to Hwy 562 and hang a right. Then you will take 562 all the way to smiths point and the road dead ends at the water. It is real easy to get twisted around but once you get there the fishing is awesome. I have been the 3 times in the last month and limited out on Reds as well as caught some nice size flounder.

In Anahuac (the Fort park) there is a road that heads south on the peninsula. There is a flat at the end with the boat channel to the east and river channel west. I've caught fish there anchored in the river and cast up on the flats. Other people were wading in to fish there. I've never waded there but poling the boat felt like firm bottom.

Manchild that is East Bay and not Trinity Bay.Manchild, are you fishing at spoonbill park or just keep going to the road dead ends My hometown is Anahuac and the park is part of Trinity Bay.Rahter-B-Fishin I never fished the park that much but i used to gig flounder there when I was in High School. The wildlife refuge is alright I usually go to frozen point and usually catch a limit of redfish there.

Robinson Bayou, I just got back from my third trip there. Didn't do quite as good as the other 2 trips but we still caught our redfish limit. I must say I was surprised we did that with the water being muddy and rough.

I'm not sure where you can park to get into Robinson Bayou?

Unless someone moved it, Robinson Bayou is in East Bay, not Trinity bay. You can walk in Trinity Bay at McCollom Park and wade towards the discharge canal.

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

McCollom Park is closed to fishermen. The shorline washed away and they've fenced off the area until they can get it rebuilt.

I'm not opposed to going to East Bay to fish. I've fished it by boat plenty of times back in the day before my father sold his boat to put me through college. Again, I appreciate all info that you're all sharing with me.

Just a guess - I would think it is where Lost River dumps into Trinity bay (far north end). I wouldn't think it to be walk-in access though.

You are right iit is east bay, but trinity bay and east bay are pretty darn close to eachother. To find it go to google maps and zoom in on robinson lake. Follow the little bayou that leads south to the bay and then go to the right along the shoreline. When the gray land starts to turn green you will see a road that dead in at the water, with a little road that leads to the right to make it look like a little "L". (This road has no name so I this is the only way I can get you there. )park at the bottom of the vertival part of the "L" and enter the water. If looking at the map you go left (gray landside), and there will be a little bayou that goes crazy ways. Between the place you enter and that little bayou is where all the redfish you can catch live. I will be there tomorrow morning at 6am sharp. If you want6 to join call me. 713-569-4511

I fish that lake because I know people that own land on the lake. I always limit out on redfish and drum there everytime I fish there. Also I caught some big alligator gar there too and plenty of crabs.

i was told by a co-worker that caught 8 dozen crabs in 1 or 2 hrs.
