Ok, guys sorry for doubting ya'll. As an avid Ray Bob fisher I've always doubted the claims of crappie in Arlington. Well, since it is only a mile from the house I tried it today and was plesantly surprised. Brought home 16 keepers, from just over 12" to just over 14" (only one over 14, most were in the 12 to 13 range. Not monsters but then again they still taste the same.
Once again my humble apologies.

you know i am glad you caught crappie in lake arlington. i had all but given up. put out a brushpile, never find any fish on it. tried the creek under I20 in the spring, nothing but real small ones. tried everywhere that looked fishy, nothing. i am glad you caught fish, and some day i will figure it out. in the mean time i am even more frustrated now.

that lake is the best kept secret for crappie around and allways has been,so don't let the cat out of the bag
I would agree with you , but then we would both be WRONG !!!!!

any one care to drop some hints on where they are catching crappie on lake arlington, what they are using for bait, anything. i will gladly point you to the brushpile i put out this winter. don't know about a secret, but i have had no luck for crappie. lots of small drum, perch, small catfish, small sandies, but no crappie.

You're not going to catch any fish sitting on the dock....errrrr, or are you? (There may be a "hint" in that remark)

Yeah i have fished around the dock, around where the lake patrol parks their boat, and up the shore around the willows in the spring. Not much luck there. have caught some sandies around the other way past the yacht club. friend caught a nice bass off the yacht club point awhile back. haven't tried the dam where it gets deep yet. maybe will go there tomorrow am and see how it goes around the dam.

Sbump,
Heck, I'll show you where I caught em'. I only go down to Arlington when on very rare occasions anyway. Sometime in the next few days we can meet down at the Arkansas ramp and head out. All were caught on jigs with fish suspended at 16 to 17 in 21 ft of water.
