Anybody use any of the "bulk" tungsten sinkers sites? Are they able to be painted and do they fray your line? I have seen several sites just curious if anybody has any experinces with the different sites would love some feedback! Looking to order several.

I have recently started using. I had small tungsten weight on spinning rod with light line and threw out 3 times and all 3 times line got cut. I figured that it was fraying my line. However, using heavier line I did not have the problems and love the weights!

I have ordered from Matt at bulktungsten.com several times. I love the weights, I have not attempted to paint or coat them.

Go to google and type in bulk tungsten and check it out... I needed some and did not have time to order on line and bought them at Dicks Sporting Goods, black weights and red painted weights.....

I have bought a few different ones from a few different sites, and yes I have invested money in some that aren't worth a [censored].
Make sure they have a finished surface or a good insert in them. I had one bunch that the inserts were cut too short and it still allowed the line to contact the sharp edge of the tungsten.
Tungsten doesn't take a finish very well, thats why the tru-tungsten acutally puts a heat shrink type of coating on the weight instead of a paint. And yes it will wear off too eventually.

I saw a great fishing tip one saturday morning where Aaron Martens takes small heat shrink and places it on the line so even with a crappy insert it should not cut the line.
Chris is probably onto something there as well about using heat shrink around the actual tungsten weight... would be easy but may make it feel strange when draggin over rocks etc.
