Sad. Prayers sent to family. A life jacket would have saved his life.

i was out there this morning...
was passed by a game warden and 2 sapd cars on the way to the lake. was told at the office that there was a situation at the lake at the deep ramp and that it was closed. that was all the info that they would give us. didnt find out the rest until i got home. kinda wish they wouldve said something so we couldve been on the lookout or something...
definately a sad situation

It's sad and all of us that fish there often see similar circumstances daily, overloaded boats and lack of safety equipment. Prayers for the family Cliff it kind of feels akward to NOT go out there and see some things that just make you want to smack someone upside the head. It's sad that this young man had to pay the ultimate price, but this is a VERY common thing out there. I see boats ALL the time that I say to my wife,"No way in hades I woulld be out here in that thing." The fact that the guy was not wearing a PFD is pretty sad. You think in a boat that small when it went over the PFD were just a few feet away under the hull. Keep your cool and stay calm in bad situations. A calm clear mind might be the only factor to save your life on the water. Rob

I see things at that lake that would get you thrown in jail or kicked off the lake anywhere else in texas on a weekend. Some have no life jackets at all in there boat. It is a dangerous place wont touch it on the weekends..
Prayers sent for the family members..

I agree there are always situations that should bot be. From what I could tell, that boat was too small to have four grown men in it. I get nervous with three in my 16ft. flatbottom.
It soesn't matter how you look at it. This is a very sad situation, and a valueable lesson to be learned.
Best wishes to his family.

Prayers for the family, we were down there Saturday AM and decided to come back instead of making a night trip out of it.

Prayers for the family and his friends. It's sad when anyone looses their life like that. It should be a reminder to all of us to wear our life jackets. Most of all, when the boat is moving. Their was a soldier out with his family lost his life on Lake Belton this weekend. He just returned home from Iraq.
