What lures do you use for hybrid or stripers? I went to Cooper lake for hybrids and threw a DD22 and got nothing. I don't own a cast net to get live bait.
I would like to go to the Brazos below P.K. and was wondering if the stripers hit atrificial bait. What do you use?
Thanks.

I fly fish, and have found that my favorite fly, is an EP Fly!! Made of fibers designed by Enrique Puglisi. Makes a great shad pattern, lifelike, and durable!!! If you want the link, i'll put it up for you.

I only have bass rods but maybe I might have to invest in a fly rod.

I've had success with with rattle shad type rattle traps trolling deep waters 25-40 feet of wate. to avoid dinks use bigger 4" rattle traps. of course once you locate them, ive use slabs off the bottom. again use larger and longer slabs to try and catch the bigger ones.

Bomber 16J XRT in dark, shaded or cloudy conditions (work it slow and variable) TNT Brian Nolan Slab spoons 1.5 ounce (fast) 1 ounce Chart Rooster Tail (fast) Rattle Trap (medium fast) Castmaster (fast) Renoski Mirror Image Darting Shad (holographic) (slow) That dead bait that can be had in those plastic packages are worthless. If I didn't own a cast net, it would be the next fishing item I purchased. A cast net is not that expensive and they are not that hard to learn to throw well enough to catch bait. Start with a 4 footer (radius) and throw it in the yard until you get some sort of circle most of the time. I have taught people how to throw a cast net who have never been able to throw one before in just minutes. This is the technique I use. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTtGWcpf88g&feature=relatedFresh bait will excel over most anything else most of the time.

I like fishing the currents on rivers with a big 5-5 inch sassy shad or bucktail jig.
