Been considering doing this for some years now but if I can't carry, not sure if it's safe anymore.
What is the best lake/guide/time of year to go etc?
Will be coming from Louisiana. Looking for the Bass catching trip of a lifetime.
Thanks for all replies.

$1250 for 4 nites and 3 days guided fishing. Great food.margharitas, beer, coke, bottled water and lodging. I've been twice and averaged 100 a day, with a bunch of 5-7 pounders. Haven't caught one over 8. Air fare fron Houston will be about $500.

Give C Wayne Nolan a call at www.mexicobasstours.comMy wife and I went down there last May with another couple and we all had a blast. I saw him yesterday at Bass Pro and he told me that there had been at least 1 14 caught each week at their lodge for the past 4 weeks. I do not think you will be disappointed.

right now, Salto's probably the place to go for numbers as well as size. Airfare to Mazatlan is reasonable, the drive to the lake is comfortable, and the area is safe. I've been several times in the past year and the folks at bigbassfishing mexico.com have been very helpful in getting the best airfare/accommodations/guides, etc. good luck

Try Angler's Inn for El Salto, really a first class outfit, and fish the 3rd week of May. Be sure and take a box full of big cranks with you .
But if you want to fish Mexico for a lot less money and be much much safer, I'd fish Falcon instead. Half the lake is in Mexico and the fish pull just the same if not harder than El Salto bass. Contact Charlie Haralson and he also will take you to Sugar Lake, about 30 minutes across the border and it's full of big bass and with hardly any other boats.
