Kkytwn,

Solid body green w/ chart tail...get'em at Buck Creek Store from Ken...the jigs are made by Pro-Angler....Jerry / Paul...Ken will know what you're asking for. Launch at Buck Creek ramp and fish the RR track bridge columns for about 20-30 minutes, if you dont get bit go the 377 bridge columns and fish the south side ones. Fish about 18 - 25 ft and use your graph to locate the brush piles in between the pillars...if that don't work find you a stand alone tree / trees and fish them...there is more than enough trees like that so you can fish all day....good luck and welcome to the Forum.

Fkytwn,

Also, try the water outlet area down on the dam, as well as either side of the dam (especially east side toward Wolf Island), as there's several gov't sunken brush piles. Caught some nice ones in that area last year. Black/Chartreuse are good, but if you can get ahold of some panfish assassins (on 1/16 or 1/8 heads...you can add a pinch weight to get em down) at Academy or Cabela's there on I-35W. Some good colors are "albino shad", "electric chicken...chartreuse fleck/pink", "chartreuse","woodpecker...chartreuse
fleck/red), and "pumkinseed...pearl/brown w/blue fleck".

As for Sunday's weather, winds don't look too bad right now bygeorge (I work for the weather service). NW 10-20 mph early...become W-SW 5-10 mph by afternoon. FYI.

Last time I fished Buck Creek I found a few crappie under the RR bridge. I anchored at the second pier from the south. Here the water was 14 feet deep. I cast north to the next pier and out to the west. The only way that I could get them to hit was with a black
chartuese jig. I would let is sink to the bottom and retrieve very slow, keeping contact with the bottom. If I broke bottom contact on my retrieve I would not get bit.

Hey guys,
I just wanted to thank you again for the great tip on Buck Creek. When we got there, the RR Spot was taken so we tied off Under 377. Caught 4 crappie. One was s beautiful Black Crappie, the biggest one I've ever caught. I'll try to post a picture when I get the film developed. We caught them using the Panfish Assasin GLOW jig. Thanks again!!!

I had that spot all to myself except for all the idiots that
must be coming from LL that don't know what no wake means.

Crappie Cat,

I also went to RR Sunday with my daughter, and caught a few by the marina. put a minnow right under the docks at the empty boat slips. Yea, the ONE time I fished LL I found my boat horn and my middle finger! No wake to them means less than 30 mph!
