Just installed unit on my boat, and gps is not responding. No smart [censored] comments, but does anyone know what I might have done wrong.

you need to power your nema system. if you look at your pwr cord and look for small silver tab thats says NEMA. Take that cord and hook it up to a acc power and ground switch. then it should work..

Pull you boat out of the garage if you are trying to get it to work under a roof. That was my simple solution. Good luck...

yeah hook power to the NMEA cord on your bundle of cords. It will give you power. Being under a garage, it just wont get a signal, but if the modules not responding then its not getting power. I had the same problem. If you just bought it from somebody else also do a hard reset, save all your waypoints and hold down the zin and zout buttons and turn the unit on.

Be sure to check the obvious first, connections, fuses, antenna is in clear view, etc.

If you know you have power, the first thing I would check is if your unit has the lastest software version updates, updates 2.4 or 2.4.2. Go to menu-menu-system info, it will tell you the software version that is installed if it doesn't say 2.4 or 2.4.2. then it needs to be updated follow instructions from lorwance web site under downloads for you particular unit.

If the new update is downloaded, do a soft reset if this doesn't work do a hard reset.
Soft Reset first:
Turn unit off, press pages key and power key, hold keys until USA map appears. This will not delete waypoints or other user saved data.

If soft did not work try Hard Reset:
Quote:
This method will delete waypoints and trails, so save them .

Shut unit off, press Zoom in, Zoom out, and the power key, hold keys until USA map appears. Unit will reset to factory default. This may take up to a few minutes for everthing to boot back up.

If this doesn't work go to this link ... antenna power ... and it will show you how to check the cables to see if power is coming thru.
