Invest in a side imaging unit. It is the best deep water investment I've ever made. Found all kinds of stuff on leon that I had been running just to the side of my whole life.

Leon is a small lake that is full of stumps.

I have learned the lake in part bu watching the local

boats while fishing. There are long sloping points cover with stumps.

About 1\2 way up the lake you need to slow down and idle.

You can fish this lake completly in two days take you time and go slow.

One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!

This is an email addy that you might be interested in. I contacted this guy (really nice guy) and he sent me a laminated contour map of Leon earlier this year. You can pick one up from his office I believe. Good Luck.

Thanks again everyone, lots of good info there. I've got the
side imaging on my want list but it comes after the HDS-8 I'm
saving for now. Any luck I'll have it all ready when they launch
the side imaging add-on for it later this year. I'll send an email
to Mr. Dumont and see if he can help me out.

Mr. Dumont got me the contour maps in PDF format, he offered to
send me a laminated one but I work for a print shop so I figured
I could get whatever done to them I needed. If you want an e-copy
of the map of Lake Leon here's the link to where I put them
on my website.

If this link ever breaks just let me know and I'll fix it.

That is awesome. Thanks for that link. My parents live on that lake and I have been wanting a contour map. Very much appreciated.

That map shows me a ton of "must check" locations. The best fishing is where structure and cover converge. You have the head start you were looking for.

Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.
