We will be in Surfside next weekend and I have no idea about fishing that area. Any info regarding redfish & trout would be great.

If the wind is light and the water clear, try freelining a shrimp on the jetty early in the AM. You can also wade the surf early. If it's not too crowded, Christmas Bay can be productive. When the boats start buzzin around, the fishing shuts down.

that's a long drive from allen. try around san luis pass. last weekend out in the bay we did pretty good for reds and caught quite a few small sharks. we used cut mullet and some perch. the cut bait was best.
REDNECK, and proud of it.

My suggestion is wade fishing near the jetties throwing either live shrimp or gold spoons. But the water has to be clear and the winds calm. If there is any west in the winds, blow it off and chill with the family.
