Anyone know anything about this lake? I was there with the Navy last year,Its a beautiful lake.I am going back this year in 2 weeks. I was wondering weather I should bring the boat and do some fishing. Are there boating restrictions on this lake and is there any crappie to be hunted down? I know there are no jetskis or skiing or tubing, could this be a idle only lake?

Thanks,
Doglips

YOU CAN USE THE BIG MOTER IF YOU WANT. THERE MAY BE A SPEED LIMIT. TRY CRAPPIE AROUND THE WATER INTAKES WEST OF THE BOAT RAMP. THERE STEEL TRIPODS. TRY THEM AT NIGHT. THIS LAKE HAS ALOT OF CRAPPIE.

Thanks for the info. Is there only one ramp on the lake? I take it we are talking about the state park correct?

Thanks,

It is a nice lake. I fished it with rangerkev last year. We fished for crappie just a bit. I know he said he has seen people crappie fishing by the old pipes sticking out across from the ramp. We fished for bass. Caught my first bass on a worm there by the islands. There is supposed to be some good cats in it as well. There is no speed limit on it. We saw some guys going all out. I would just use good judgement. There willprobably be alot of paddleboats out if the weather is nice. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Nice lake, no restrictions, with the boat, that I know of. Its not big enough to run WOT anyway. Good crappie fishing (kids enjoyed the crappie) by the old rusted A- frame sticking out of the water. Texas Sportman magazine rated it as a real good place for cat fishing (didn't read that until I got back home)LOL. I caught several 2-3 lb large mouth on topwater lures. Its on my list of lakes to revisit.

Good luck with the fishing.

I was thinking about hitting Mineral Wells this weekend. Since it's a state park, does it open at a particular time? How much does it cost? Thanks
