being in the right place at the right time is the key. nothing more to it. i got lucky. the bass had moved from shallow spring areas, to deeper water. There was another one similar size that was hooked up in the same area on a topwater the same afternoon. they saw her jump, then backed off the drag and she shook the topwater loose underwater. those big fish have tough mouths.

I am actually into November now, and about to shut it down. December will be the time the baby is due and I wont even have time to think about fishing for a couple months  I may pick it back up next summer depending on how the baby is doing and reacting to the world.
