well went out to aquilla lake on saturday. had luck early pickin up 7 or so in out first stop but then only ended the day with about 10. but the excitment of the day came when we boated one of the largest crappie i have seen in person. we didnt have a scale but she went a hair over 15 inches and was full of eggs. also got a 14 incher. but i was wondering if any of yall can tell me what a crappie that size wieghs about. i would say 2 pounds but that was the biggest one i seen so i dont know i could have been more.

We were out there saturday and also caught some pretty big ones. Took our limits (4) pretty easily.

Where are you catching them at? I've never had much luck there.

holy **** 4 limits and u say easily. where and how were u fishing that is amazing cuz we fished all day.

All but 4 were caught from one cove. All with jigs.

I was out there turkey hunting this week and couldn't believe the number of boats there.....on weekdays!!!! I knew something was up and finally figured it out when I saw a guy steadily catching a mess of crappie from the ramp. He was there 2 days in a row and was catching fish every time I saw him.

are they cacthing them shallow? also i have never been to the lake. i know where it is. where are the good spots on that lake? if you mind me asking?

Ummm - that was my third time on the lake but if someone has a map I could show ya.

All were caught very shallow.
