Ok, I have 20 lb big game on my abus and recently I put about 20 ft of 50lb topshot on via albright knot. Well when I went to cast it, the albright knot caught on the last eye and backlashed the snot outta me. Thinking it is a little too big for the eye, lol.

Anyways, should I use a swivel on the end of my 20lb and tie about 3 ft of 50 lb on it, or just go straight mainline 20 lb all the way (no leader just bottom rig on mainline)?

Thanks

just use staight 20lb up to your leader. Then you can go either way with it.
If you are loosing a lot of rigs in trees, you can use a lighter leader. This way you just loose your hooks.
If you are losing a lot of whole rigs in rocks, bump up your leader. Or figure out a break away weight.
Good luck
