Hi all,

My son recently heard about the fishing trips I used to take with my dad on charters up in cape cod, and he want's to give it a whirl.

I live in DFW and Galveston looks like the closest area. Looking online and the prices are a little high for my budget.

I remember it being fairly cheap to get on a charter with a bunch of other people.

Anybody knows if there is an inexpensive place near Galveston? any idea what the rates are?

Thanks

looks very nice but this also looks pretty much private, $300 / person is a little high for me.

Is there anything in the 50 range in the area?

You ain't gonna catch much on a 4 hour trip.

With the costs of fuel, bait, the boat, insurance, maintenance, etc. etc. etc. you're not gonna get much for $50.

Thanks Striker. Just what I needed.

Land Pirate, It's more for the experience. besides, at 10 year's old, he's liable to get dragged in

I bet the experience would be better if he caught a bunch. We went on a 5 hour trip and the whole boat caught 6 fish. I was a lucky one and caught 1. There's just not enough time to get you out to where all the fish are on the short trips.

Wow, I didn't realize the bay one was that terrible. I've done otheres that where acceptable.

Ok, I'll definately look at the bay one.

I'm thinking of going during Labor day. Any idea what will be biting?
