Was on em good before I left town, went Monday for the 1st time in 2 weeks and it was horrible. Fished 12-25ft bridges and brush with jigs and no place had a concentration of good fish, did have one about 2 1/2lbs though and enough keepers to make the greese smoke. Caught a 5lb green trashfish and broke off 2 good cats. If the wind lays down, gonna graph the dam and see if they're already starting to stack up down there. Cin/chart was probably the best color...

Is that what one would called the flats? A guy on Saturday told me that some were being caught on the flats??? I didn't know what he meant. Do you think he mean the deep water by the dam?

Yes...during the winter, the crappie will hold down by the dam in 50-60 ft. of water, off of either of the main lake points.

purchase lake map of fork. will give you a general idea of points and flats locale. i'm thinkin that the fish still oughta be chasin the shad, and not necessarily out in the deep blue yet. i'd still give the creeks leading into the coves a lookover. using your electronics, locate the shad & you should be on some crappie. once you've located the baitfish concentrate on the areas where the baitfish show as elongated on the screen, not wadded in a ball. an elongated scroll will mean you're on top of feeding fish.

Guide Clint Wright, of "LAKE FORK DAY AND NIGHT GUIDE SERVICE", put me on some fine crappie last week in Caney Creek in about 25' over brush piles and the smallest was 14".

Got some good reports on the points near the dam yesterday. They're back on bad shad jigs or anything with chart in it. Prolly be out there tomorrow...
