As promised, here is the full report and pics.
Enjoy!
Special thanks to TFF Member maxwell5076 (David) and his brother, Cody for booking a Brazos kayak fishing trip with River Run Guide Service.
Althought we got a 2 hour late start due to the severe thunderstorms that popped up just before daylight, these are two Anglers who would not be denied their first kayak fishing adventure on the Brazos.
We had a few rainshowers early...
However, the resident population of LM bass didn't seem to mind. Afterall. They were already wet
.
So we start off with a double or two that we CPR, and things quickly escalate from there.
David and cody were immediately impressed with the determination, average size and aggressiveness of the Brazos bass we were CPR'ing on light tackle.
Here is Cody with a really nice 14" Spotted Bass that he Cpr'd.
Throughout the trip, we were able to target most of the LMB's by sight casting to cruising fish. In this photo, I spotted a larger fish that was following Cody's smaller hooked LMB while he fought it. I was able to instruct David to make a calculated cast and his offering was immediately intercepted by our cruising "voyeur".
Nice fish!
As the skies begin to clear, we continue our assault as we move from run to run.
Here is one LMB that was fortunate enough to escape a recent attack by one of the local Great Blue Herons, only to be CPR'd by David. Hopefully, this fishes "lucky streak" will continue.
Here are a few more shots from the action.
