I tried last night for a little bit after the storm. I didnt have and luck under the bubbles. I dont know where the cats are on Grapevine.

It took me 3 tries between storms, but finally got on with dead shad & couldn't find any more. Caught 6 channels on p/b & nothing on cut shad. First time to try for blues, but struck out! Man, I sure would like to catch some good 'uns, just for the fight, don't need no fish to eat. Any pointers would be appreciated.Thanks.

Thanks to both.BTW, nice G/V cat DAMFISHERMAN,but I did see where riverrat took some credit for being the guide.Maybe I just picked a bad day to try for some blues.

8up - I was just messing with him on the "guide" part. He knows that. I hope nobody took it as me being cocky about it. I was not. I just choose the spots that look good on the graph and from past experience on the lake.
That lake is pretty tricky, it is either ON or it is NOT. I have gone out many a time and been skunked but have also gone out and limited on big fish pretty quick.
Ya never know unless you have a hook in the water.
Plus, here lately I have been focusing on the drift. I know there are fish shallow still but I just like drifting. Might end up shallow next time for a few hours and then moving to the drift. All depends on the weather and wind.

riverrat1973, didn't take it as cocky at all, I knew what you meant.Even though I don't know ya'll, I was just messin with you too. But, you do have to be in the right place to catch a Hawg like that. So, does live shad work better than cut or is it day to day? Thanks.

I never use live shad unless after flatheads - and then I still rarely use shad. I always use cut shad.

I went out Sunday with little success with fresh shad. Lots of bites, but they were not holding on the bait. I hooked something nice that spooled my reel with braid. The bite was reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy slow. I have been really well this year. Better luck next time.

Well, I'm On Call all week & w/e, so it will be at least 2 weeks before I can try my luck on this catfishing 1 more time. Maybe by then they will be bitin'. I've seen some pictiures of infamousfisher too,so it must been a bad w/e.
