Heck I do it for free everyday right here on the forum Personally if someone had the courtesy to call me and ask me that I wouldnt charge him a thing...Just tell him to meet me at MY convenience and we'll have a little chat I get people that try to do that all the time to me at the ramp when Im busy or with customers...When those people ask me where are the fish I just point and say out in the lake.... There is a time and place for everything

Not only that I take pleasure in knowing I may have helped someone get on some fish.

Probably get in trouble for this comment, but it makes me wonder why some people slam guides. Seems to me that there are a great bunch of em here on TFF, Keep it up fellows I think it is great, and I will give you a reference any time I have a chance.

Probably get in trouble for this comment, but it makes me wonder why some people slam guides. Because not all of them are as freindly as the ones on TFF. I have had my run ins with the guides that think they own the lake.

+1 Even though I do not guide anymore, Karma is someone you want on your side and it feels better to give What J.D. said.+ I am pretty free with my info and don't mind, I figure if I help you then later on someone ask's you what guide to hire on Whitney....I may get a reference. Although I am willing to help guys and gals at any time with information; I will point out that is nyone's benefit to hire a guide one time to gather the information you need. It's valuable one on one private tutoring and could save a ton of money in wasted time and empty livewells to learn it on your own.. Plus, just cause it's pointed out on a map, doesn't mean it's easy... support your local guides, and good luck.

I have had my run ins with the guides that think they own the lake. I agree and these guides are usually the same ones that under cut the good guides by charging half of the going rate. All they end up doing is scaring off potential clients for the quality guides. But, I guess you get what you pay for.

Guiding is not easy. By no means. And the ones that do it full time man that can be stressful to say the least. Having been one and friends with many on here and off of TFF, I will say this. Most if not all guides dont mind helping out. In fact guides get a bad wrap do to the select few who feel they own the lake because that is how they make their living. I do not mind helping people out. I just mind when people take advantage and only want spots not how too info. I will say this though I will help someone who has eager kids or women wanting to catch before someone who does not . The guides on this forum give alot of helpful info. I do not feel it is good etiquette to ask where my spots are but instead of what to look for and how and when. That shows a eager fisherman willing to learn and not just POTLICK!!!!!!!!! Or taught how to and shown some sweet honey holes and then end up with all your spots with GPS coordinates posted up on the web cause of their POTLICKING friends. I am not aloud to name any names but hey we all know who they are. But Rookie to answer your question think back the first time you met me. Did I try and charge you for what I told you to help you catch some kitties? I did not know you from jack. But was kind enough to try and help you guys out.
