Did you ever apply at Volt to work at Texas Instruments. They have been hiring like crazy. You would work 3 days one week and 4 the next or nights if you get the night shift. Lots of time off to fish. I would guess it would be around 40k a year.

Dustin - I could check and see with my wife but I think the elevator union is hiring right now (yeah, union) but I think their helpers start at $17 per hour. Just a thought.

Keep your head up. Something will come around soon. If things get super terrible for you then I still have that $10/hr job at JPS and it starts in a couple weeks.

You would think that a fellow fisherman would understand. Even when times are rough, fishing helps keep you sane. He didn't come on here and say that he has a starving family to feed. He just needs a job and his friend was trying to help him out.

I know we hire lots of help desk and computer support staff, and usually with university jobs, they're a little insulated from the "real world" in that they tend to be real laidback and lots of job security. Can't complain about government-sponsored benefits from working for the State, neither. Good luck!

Actually depending on the point of view, there is nothing wrong with this.
Sure fishing keeps us all sane, but I've been out of work since December, and I'm not out there blowing a cnote on hooks.

Now, the fact that a friend on here is trying to help out is awesome, and I do not hold that against him, hell, I could use that sort of help.


My point is simply that each person here is entitled to their opinion and if someone thanks that dropping 100 bucks on hooks is severe, then they are entitled to voice that opinion.

I hear ya brother!...I agree about having an opinion....but he found a post from two weeks ago and thought it would be funny to use it agianst me...yeah I spent a hundred on hooks....I feel im still in a financial position to do that. He talks about not having the money for the hooks.....and 20 mins later he splits a guided trip with someone. If you want to be HATEFUL then send me a pm....thats all im sayin

If I spent $100 for 100 hooks no I couldnt afford to take a guided trip my ebay specials 50 8/0 circle hooks for $8 do me just fine. you like high dollar hooks I like a deal, to each his own.when hooks get to a buck apiece ILL quit fishin. check your PMs I did send you an apology
