Crappie in the same places as usual.

Start at 7:00ish. Stopped fishing for crappie around 11:00 or so. 33 crappie caught.
All on "structure" 14'-22' deep. Most came on bubble bellies.

Also found some sand bass on the humps out from Murrell park. Fish were schooled up but scattered all over the place. Probably caught 25-30 fish in a couple of hours. All fish came on slabs.

We also saw a couple of celebrities on the water. I wonder if they caught more than one. laugh

Hey JBrown... Without sounding too ignorant (hopefully), what are 'bubble bellies'?

Bubble bellies are little plastic parts that go on a jig head.
Roadrunner sells 'em.

I'll see if I can find you a link.

got it... Thanks Jeff.. Do you limit using the bubble bellies on Roadrunners or do you use them on the standard jig heads as well?

Actually we've been using them exclusively on regular round jig heads.

You can buy just the bodies. You don't have to buy the full Roadrunners.

BPS also makes a knock off that are a little bit cheaper.

Thanks again Jeff.. I have never tried these. I usually use the bullet/skirt, grubs or small plastic minnow/shad on the regular round jig heads and or Roadrunners. I will pick some up.

I use bubble bellies too. Saw and read where some of the crappie gurus use them and do well. Here's a hint they passed along. Put a tiny tiny dab of fisherman's glue/super glue right between the jighead and the plastic after you have the plastic "mounted" to your liking. Crappie and perch like to try to tug the plastic off, also lasts longer if you're casting them or shooting them. Not my idea, just thought I'd pass it on. smile
