Where can one find out what line/rod action/reel etc is best for each technique/lure?

Seems a little confusing trying to remember everything. Is there a tips site or anything that has it all listed out?

There's way too many variables....even with certain lures. It all depends on the size/weight of the lure, open water/tight cover, the presentation of lure, etc. Any certain type of lure, presentation, weight of lure and structure/cover you are wondering about in particular?

Not really. I just wanted to expand my arsenal, and was looking for tips. In the past I have just used what I had and tied whatever on it. Now I want to get more technical. Just from picking up a few things on here and modifying some stuff I already had I now have: *curado on a 7 ft MH with 50 lb braid I use for jigs *Abu Black Max with 7 ft M with 15 lb mono for cranks/spinnerbaits/topwaters/lipless cranks. I also have (and I know it isn't the best for this) a Abu 6500 c3 on a 7 ft MH with 20 lb mono that I use for carolina rigging.
I guess my questions is are these combos (rod action/line) ok for what I use them for now? What would be better if not?
Oh, and what kind of combo do I need for fishing t-rig soft plastics, wacky rigs and weightless flukes?

Check out the pinned posts in this forum for what others are using for pretty much every technique going. Lots of good info. http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com/zeroforum?id=60

The 7' MH is fine for the jigs/crigs with the braid. you could also use the same setup with a heavy spinnerbait in thick cover, buzzbaits/frogs, You could also use that rod for a lot of other things...like Tx rigs with mono/flouro, deep running cranks, lipless cranks.
The 7' M should work good for light Tx rigs, heavier dropshots, some crankbaits, and wacky rigs and flukes.
You may want to get a 6'6"-6'10" M for wacky rigs and flukes if your fishing close to trees or need a more accurate cast. It would also be good for popper type topwaters, drop shots, shaky heads, etc.
You can get a lot more technique specific rods but those 3 types should do the trick with most of what you will need.

Thanks John! If I wanted to be able to go back and forth from wacky rigs and flukes on that 6' 6" M rod what line do you recomend? Something lighter I assume since those are weightless for the most part.... And would a spinning reel be better for this or is that more personal preference?
Thanks again. Lots of reading to do on Mark's link, lol.

My pleasure. Probobly 10 lb flouro for wacky rigs and 10-12 for flukes. I like to use a baitcaster.
