 question about generating

How accurate have you foud the websites that give generating info? I am trying to time a trip to lake whitney dam and its roughly an hour away and I dont want to waste my time going down there just to find out its generating again...So I am looking for information on a Saturday...I have been told the website is inaccurate most of the time. So how do I figure it out or should I just give up try to take time off and stay a night or two in whitney?

I know the LCRA is always good for their reports they even have an automated phone line.
 It's more than the catfish would do.

I'm not so sure that the fishing isn't better when they are generating. Can someone chime in about that... I know it's a very different river when it's high and fast

yeah but how do you fish it when its high and fast, you might as well be surfing if you are in a yak, and anything heavier would get stuck if you come back after they stop generating....I guess you could troll out of the yak while the river pushes you
oh and I emailed a guy today he says that the generating site is updated every hour and is spot on....i will test that theory

read your post wylie, ive been testing the spoton www theory. its about as spot on as an albino labrador. this morning on http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/whitney/ at 1:00p and it read 25cfs release. now at 6:06p it still says 25cfs release. either 6hrs no generation or 6hr total generation. either way, not much faith this direction

25 is normal I was told.... yeah I looked at it juat about everyhour and got the same but solami that site you gave me didnt have anything for today yet so I was going to check it tomorrow and see....did you get rain?

whitney did. i forgot to wash the car then so all we got was a frizzle. but hey, watervapor IS rain in my book
