Muskys do not have a spot near the tail, and the head looks a bit short. It should look like a tiny version of this: http://dnr.wi.gov/org/caer/ce/news/images/2008/Tiger_Musky.jpg

I don't know if they can survive down here in Texas beyond the stocked population.

its a log perch. catch them up the river on Belton all the time in the cast net. Had the same question show up in April.
