Okay so I go out fishing yesterday I am way south almost to the damn on the bend. The wind starts kicking like any good fisherman with an 18 ft boat I know 15 mph wind on that lake is bad news. So I am running back up towards the launch and there is a rec boater up in front of me by a couple of hundred meters so I hop into his wake path where the water is smooth. I can see he is towing a float behind him. Being in my sx180 with my 115 I overtake him kinda quickly, but when I get with in 25 meters of his float I realize aw %^%$ there are kids on that float, they where hard to see cuz there where one foot rollers on the lake. I mean your in a north south boat lane in slightly rough water and you gonna pull your kids on a towable. I am starting to see this more and more and it just seems stupid . Sorry I am ranting I know

so they were stupid for towing the kids....

Why becausse I did something everyone owns a boat does which is hop into the smooth out water from another boat. Two I get within 25 meters of another boat before I overtook them in a boat lane. I hate to tell you running a boat lane on toledo bend isn't like running on gibbons creek. and actually depending on how you interpret the law, you could consider what they did illegal by towing a float in an unsafe manner near timber and in a major lane of travel.

Anyone with someone in tow should be given right of way and plenty of room regardless of the circumstances.

Probably Aggies in the boat in front of you pulling the tube. Probably Baby Aggies in the tube. They're everywhere these days.

I'm sorry, but pulling any one in a boat lane is dangerous as well as wrong. The markers at TB have been known to drift and end up in the trees. Remember just because some one can drive a boat does not mean that they know how to drive a boat safely.

who would tow their kids in a boat lane??! thats horrible! lol they must not like their kids very much

Toledo is my home lake, and people pull tudes in the boat lanes all the time. It is about the only safe place, out of the timber, to pull. WHY would you think there was no one in the tube if it was being pulled, I know kids are small, but do you drag a tube around the lake with no one in it!!!! People lose all common sense when they are in a boat. By the way, the boat lanes on south Toledo are in bad shape. If you want to see how boat lanes are suppose to look like go to the LA. side. La. puts outdoorsmen's money back into the sports, not so on the Texas side.

Be thankful we do not have an AGGIE for President yet, and that proves it can get worse...
