http://www.boydduckett.com/After reading the article it sounds like the products he received were not the same we are getting over the counter. He probably started hearing complaints from people and it might not have been good for his public relations "aspect". Then again he might have "seen the light of day" in regards to a possible future financial problem for the company and he already had somebody ready to step in with a good deal he found hard to pass up.

Those are great rods...if you like returning them every other week. Light yes, but not a hint of durability!!!!

I don't understand about all the problems people are having with these rods. I can't believe anyone is more rough on equipment than I am. I love them. I maybe the last one to feel that way. Now that Duckett is out the way they can pick me up.

If you bought a carrot stiick when they first came out then you probably bought a good one...If you have purchased one recently, it is just a matter of time. Boyd had heard all of the complaints, but did pay much attention to it until he was sent a shipment of the "defective" rods. They were not up with the initial agreed specs. He confronted the company about it, they didn't react as he felt was needed, so he parted company with them. He has known about this problem since around the time Elite Series visited Smith Mountain Lake earlier this year. The reason this issue went public, was not to intentially hurt CS, but to clear BD name from a "faulty" line of products that he no longer wanted to be associated with...

I shattered 2 of the original models bringing 2 lb bass in the boat, then upon return I upgraded to the new 21 Gold Stix that are supposed to be stronger and lighter. After 1 trip the pearl orange finish came off all around the reel seat only to expose a bright, glossy Burst Orange blank...... This means there was nothing for the Pearl finish to stick to..... def. questioned the quality of the product then.... If you want a great, durable, light, well - balanced, split-grip rig, I recommend the new Falcon Experts.
