I had this idea while at work today, right now my squadron is trying to find ways to raise money for our 234th Marine Corps Birthday Ball so that Sgts (E-5) and below can get tickets at a reduced price with the goal/idea of them being free.

Well we've got a bunch of people that like to fish and I thought maybe putting on a squadron tournament in which the entry fees would be put towards the ball tickets. Well after doing some talking with those I know, there isn't that many people with boats but a lot would love to do this.

Then I thought about inviting those of the community to participate. With some kind of incentive for the top 3 finishers provided by the squadron, like a plane ride or something I don't know.

Any ideas, would anyone be interested in doing this so that junior Marines could go to our Birthday ball and not have to pay about 75 bucks to go?
