Can be in Texas, Ark, or OK. Looking to take wife for a little vacation and get her a break from motherhood. (1 month old really wears you out) I am also open to a nice place on the coast of Tx. I do have a boat so a place with a boat dock/boat house is great. I prefer fishing for Crappie and cats if that helps.
I want to take this trip in August.

lake murray at the lodge or broken bow (broken bow is my favorite) both great lakes and not usually very many people on them. got trout fishing below broken bow and some spectacular scenery.

Are there any Crappie in there? What about blue and yellow cats?
Where do you stay while there?

Mountain Harbor Resort. Halfway between Mena Arkansas and Hot Springs Arkansas Condos on side of mountains overlooking Lake Quachita. Affordable 2, 3, 4, 5 and six bedrooms. Furnished with Antique Furniture, Stone fireplaces, Cable TV Big Decks with Grills for cooking or you can eat affordable great food at the restaurant there. Beautiful Launch, Marina full service with tackle, guides and more. Water clarity is 6-8 feet. Lake has hundreds of islands, grass, points deep structure. Full of Black bass, crappie, catfish and has huge stripers running on the main channel towards the dam south of where you will be staying. Been taking the family there for years. Oh, I almost forgot. Bring a large pie pan and go by boat the next marina north of you, about a mile. Order an Apple Pie. They will cook it in your pie pan. Give it to them one day and pick it up the next. It is world class and you will never forget it. Your wife will love everything about the place. Tell Bill Barnes the owner I said hello. I held the 1990 State Team Skeeter tournament there, when I was marketing director for Skeeter. I rented out the entire place for the tournament Had more than 250 skeeters their. Definitely made a statement in Ranger Boat Country.
