I'm not sure what a spider crank is but we will leave it at that. LOL A spider crank is what you become after buying a $keeter and $eeing all the $pider crack$ develop with little to no restitution from the factory.

Think about the poor guy with the trailer issue and the Ranger. Guess they ride rough going down the road too! LOL!!!

Yes the spider cracks are just a cosmetic issue, but they do look bad , especially when you go to resale.Skeeter makes a good boat but they have always had issues with this as well as other cosmetic problems due to sun damage.The trailers I didn't know there were any issues.All manufacturers have some problems from time to time. My Champion has been in some big stuff on numerous occasions and the finish looks as good as the day I bought it.I think the Skeeter having a flatter bottom causes more stress in rough water.

I have a 1998 ZX202C and I had the same experience with the cracks and I also had a problem with the top plate coming loose. I spoke with the factory and they stated that due to the age of the boat they could not help me. (this was in 2004)I had to create a fix of my own by replacing all of the fasteners along the top of the boat from screws (cheap) to stainless fasteners with a nut and lock washer. they could put a little more quality in it for 35+ thousand.

I had a 2000 Model ZX202 that the complete top cap spider cracked. They replaced the top cap in 2003 at the factory. When i went to pick up from the factory, nothing was rigged. Had to go pay a dealer to rerig the boat. 1 year later the top cap was worse than before and they would not fix again.
I will say that my 2006 ZX225 does not have that issue.
Now that is brand loyalty.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

I bought a Champ in '05 though and it runs Rayburn regularly ... no cosmetic issues yet though. I don't like the trailer very much though compared to my old Ranger.

My '01 Cobra has been driven pretty rough. I've been at Amistad in 40 mph winds and Choke in 30 mph winds.
The lakes around here get almost as bad with high winds......I'll just say the boat has had countless rough rides.
The only spider crack in my gel coat is where I hit a duck going 60 mph.
In my experience, a well made boat should not have these spider cracks in the gel coat. I would be pissed if I spent $50,000 on a boat and had these problems....cosmetic or not.

i have a few spider cracks on my 95 champion, it still a great boat just looks bad, i have got stuck out in some pretty bad weather before but it gets me back home!

I live in the panhandle we fight wind every time we go my 2000 skeeter never had any cracks and my new one has no cracks. We had a 70 + down draft hit us three weeks ago 8 ft rollers no cracks. Trailer sucks need a new one already.

My 97 ZX185 never had any cracks. My white 04 ZX225 has one small crack where the drivers console meets the deck. You allmost need a magnafine glass to see it. I guess I should sell it as fast as I can. It probably won't catch any fish now.
