Anyone got recommendations on a good first couple reads on catfishing? "Catching Catfish" looks good. I'm looking for something with lots of info and reference material.

Find Tiny here under the catfishing section, there is not a book that can compete with his knowledge at all.

Go here. http://www.catfishing.tv/ Print out the info pages. Bind them and then you'll be in possession of the most informative, locally viable book, on catfishing EVER!

Duly noted!! Just trying to absorb as much info from as many places as possible. The few fishing books I've looked at only had two or three pages on catfish.
I've read Tiny's site about twice now, great stuff. I'm sure the locally-relevant knowledge is really important, too.

Anyone got recommendations on a good first couple reads on catfishing? "Catching Catfish" looks good. I'm looking for something with lots of info and reference material. Excellent Book. Explains the science of the catfish really well in understandable terms and has good information that's a little more than just generalization per'se. Also +1 on the Catfish Insider specials.(I like sporting mags that are not always Northern or mountain west related, but covers the the Big "M's"(Rivers) and the Southern lakes. And of course another pile of +++ dittos on Tinys infamous postings and website information. He has helped a many of us and he has forgotten more than some of us know about catfishing.

The place I get some terrific information from which I feel like is the best out there anyway, is Tiny's web site. It has just about all the information a catfisherman would ever need and then some. Been using his tip section now for about 5 or 6 yrs. years.

In-Fisherman now has four catfish books. There's the classic "Channel Catfish Fever" that focuses mainly on channels in rivers. There are also three Critical Concepts book on catfish; they cover Fundamental, Location, and River Presentation. Tiny's got great practical stuff, and these book can give you an additional perspective that will round out your knowledge.
I also like the annual Catfish In-Sider magazine.
