i did make it out there last friday and i caught a couple of crappie too. i got my map and went looking for the coe piles and i was surprised that i could actually find them. i pulled four crappie off of two piles that i found, to be honest i was pretty happy just to find the piles. it was a beautiful day on the lake. hey scott you'd be proud, i had a pole in each hand slow trolling. i'll be out there this friday trying it again.

Way to go Jon!!!!! It can be done, it just takes a little practice and persistence. Did you use jigs only? GoodLuck CrappieMaster

Hi, Bill, welcome to the forum.
Could you give a little bit more explanation to how you fish the bridges? I like jon.G2 are curious as to how this is down. Do you just troll jigs behind the boat and weave around the pillars? Or do you just use the trolling motor to position yourself and cast jigs underneath?

HI ARCHFISHER I PEG A 3/16 OR 1/4 OZ. BULLET WEIGHT ABOUT 18" UP THE LINE WITH A TOOTH PICK THEN TIE THE CRAPPIE JIG TO THE END OF THE LINE. DROP THE LINE TO THE BOTTOM AN REEL UP TWO TURN. MOVE THE BOAT WITH THE TROLLING MOTOR INTO THE WIND. THE WEIGHT KEEP THE LINE STRAIGHT.YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE THE DEPTH TILL TOU FIND THE FISH. YOU MY NEED TO CHANGE YOUR SPEED ALSO . MOVE A FEW FEET AND STOP YOU MAY WANT THE WIND TO BLOW YOU BACK A FEW FEET. YOU CAN CALL ME AT 817-277-0825 I HAVE A OLD RANGER RED AND WHITE. BILL CARR

Hi Bill, Thank you so much for the detailed advice. I am just getting into lake fishing with the recent purchase of my boat (been a stock pond and fly fisherman most of my life). I have actually never caught a crappie.
I will definitely try your method out. I'm in an older black and silver Cajun. Hopefully I'll be able to get out this weekend sometime weather permiting. Feel free to pull over and say hi. Do you usually fish the morning or evening?

Welcome fella's, if you use a 1/4oz jig and go to the bottom and reel up 2 turns or so you can hit the bottom cross member, after you hit the cross member that's when the crappie will hit the jig. Also use only your trolling motor it takes alittle practice but it's the only way to go. I know that a 1/4oz jig sounds too heavy but it keeps the jig down where the fish are and you have better feel than with a weight above your jig. GoodLuck CrappieMaster

Well going to buy some jigs and try this out. I went to day and catch just a few bass. Im having trouble using my trolling motor to keep me around in one spot. It seems like I moving way to fast. Still new to this kind of fishing.
