Just release them. There are alot of other fish that are better to eat than Hybrids.

they are a put and take fishery, therfore: "Hybrid Striped Bass on the half shell" Fillet the fish and leave the skin/scales on. soak fillets in Italian salad dressing for 2 hours. throw on grill at low heat lay onion slices, green pepper slices and tomato slices on fillets brush often with a mixture of: Olive oil, tony's cajun seasoning, chili powder, garlic powder, and anything else you want.

That sure looks good. Does the skin/shell just peel off?

ahhhhh
you simply serve the cooked fish off the skin (lift it with a fork).
BTW, keep this a little quiet, otherwise TPWD will have to raise our license prices to stock more hybrids.

Had a guide I went fishing with tell me about Striper Lobster. Take striper fillets and soak them in real Mayo overnight. Lay some type of lettuce in a baking pan(the type of lettuce was important). Bake for 3 hrs I believe but can't remember what temp, also kinda important. Never been much of a fish eater so I didn't pay close attention. I will have to email him for the recipe. He swore that if done correctly the finshed meal taste just like lobster. Maybe somebody will fill in the details.

I fry mine with some Catfish Cajun Fry from Krogers. 1st dip them in some spicy mustard. Then mix half flour and half cajun fry into a thick mix. Dip the fish into the mix and pan fry! Splash some Louisiana Hot Sauce on it!

Sounds like it would come out tasting like that cedar plank everyone talks about...

Like I said wasn't paying much attention. Might not have been that long. I'm going to call my brother and ask him. He was the one interested.

Cut up mushrooms,Bell Peppers, and onions like you would for fajitas. Marinate this in 1/3 cup soy sauce, 1/3 cup oil, one cup of pinapple orange juice, and one tablespoon of crushed garlic overnight. This also makes a great flank steak and beef- chicken marinade.
The next day add chunks of striper to the marinade for one hour. Cook on foil or a pan with holes in it over mesquite or gas grill. Just before the fish is done add a can of chunk pine apple to the mix! Yum

Is there a good way to get the fishy taste out if you cook them on the grill like that? I cut all of the red meat off ond it seens to help. Thats why I fry them the same way as Crappie and they turn out great!
