went to Hubbard on Sunday and there were ALOT of floating 10-14" catfish. Then we went to the shoreline and there were about 35 on the shoreline near the red barn area. I saw them all over the lake. Any idea on what is causing this?

Only caught 8 Sunday. Really slow. I did not mark many fish either at the normal spots, which was unusual. Passed up the big boat show out from the jetti in the am, and got hailed on during the storm, but the drop in temp was welcome.

I suspect thermoclines are starting to set-up and the oxygen content beneath them isn't very good.

You didn't happen to see any dings in their heads where they might have been hit with 3 and 4 ounce slabs, didja?

Saw 1 floating on LL on Sunday,but he had a hook and a rod tip still hanging out his jaw.

I am betting it is post spawn depression. Its hard for them to watch their 20,000 children leaving the nest.

Last 2 weeks it was the carp / buffalo, but this week is was almost all small cats. Unusual to say the least.

I saw 7 floaters on Lewisville between 2 an 8 lbs. Thought it was odd as well. Doubt if the cause was from any of the above post. However Post Spawn depression was my favorite.
