I head to Grapevine every Wednesday morning with a co worker, and have been doing so for about 6 weeks straight now. We've caught some little ones out there but nothing over about 1 lb or 1.5lbs

So far our takers are on a spinnerbait (white w/ black speckles ), jig (white), Rat-L-Trap (bleeding heart shiner ).

So we've hit the most known spots such as Twin Coves, air bubbles at the dam, rip rap at the dam.

I know they're are bass holding in twin coves, but we haven't been able to get the bite. We've both worked topwaters, shallow divers, med divers, jigs, tubes, worms, chatterbaits, swim-baits.

We usually hit the areas ranging from 20ft to 5ft deep. We've rotated colors from dark to light and can't seem to find the strike zone. Heh I know the strike zone is small this time of the summer, but for the life of us, we can't figure out what we might be doing wrong to get nothing after working an area for 3-4 hours! smile If anyone has some pointers or tips for this lake I'd greatly appreciate it. It would be nice to be able to work a lake close to work once a week with a co-worker and actually find the area with a bite smile

I'm just getting back into fishing after 15 years away, and my buddy has been shore fishing for 5+ years.

P.S. we're both big on catch and release so this is all about the fun of catching them on GV

Try a shake head, they might not be chasing spinnerbaits

Caught a 5lb on a watermelon brush hog at twin coves 3 weeks ago. Good luck. FOr some reason the vine has not been good to me either except for that 1 fish.

Smoke on!

Go bright with crank baits right now. Chartreuse/blue back or Sexy Chartreuse if it's a strike king crank. Look for isolated chunk rock, it doesn't need to be on a point either, it just needs to be the only concentration of chunk rock on a stretch of bank exposed to the wind.
Hope this helps.
