The hybrids are in their pattern right now..surfacing early by party island and on the ledges there..when they stop the surfacing use charteuse or white slabs and jig them off the bottom or find them in the water column with sassy shads..then in the evenings ,after 6pm till about 9pm or so they will surface again by the island and by the dam ledges.

party island..fish on main lake side where the ledge drops from 3' to 26' also behind it where they park all of the boats, there are good dropoffs.just go around the island and vary your depths and you will find them.

Went out early this morning and zero.. I have not been skunked on Conroe in years. First two hours looked great and nothing. Hit a few deep water spots that almost always produce fish and nothing. Anybody doing any good on Conroe?

Was out there yesterday early and caught a whole lot of nothing. Think its time to invest into a fish finder, cause i've been feeling clueless out there lately.

We were on the water by about 630 - 7 and it felt warm already.

I fished Conroe this morning from 6:45-1:30. I had been reading reports of a good point bite in 15-25ft, plus I needed to run the boat so I fished Conroe on a weekend. I managed 5 with the biggest a shade over 3. I got 3 on a Yellow Magic and 2 on a Wat/red Senko. One's things for sure, I spent the majority of my day fishing deep and only had one bump & drop. My brother caught 2 also and all of our fish came off rip-rap. How did ya'll fare?

I was bank fishing Sat night, hooked a BIG fish, twice. I was using live perch.
It caught me off guard, and I had left my tackle box with the larger hooks at the house.
I used the largest hook I had, but I think it was too small.
So the fish swam with the perch for a short distance, and when I tried to set the hook, I just pulled the perch out of his mouth.

Hate to hear that, you better be prepared when you go to Conroe. You mentioned the perch,i was cleaning some big hybrids 6-8lbs from Conroe last week and a bunch of them had small bluegill in their stomachs.

Went Thursday and over the Weekend and caught several fish off of docks. Largest about 6 lbs. Caught all my fish in <5ft on either a t-rig or crank. The majority of the better docks were on points and had wind blowing into them. However, seen several boats fishing points/offshore stuff but I could not get a bit when I tried alittle deeper water.

Our subdivision has a marina, and that's where I go. It is restricted to only the people in our subdivision.
However, not far from the 1097 bridge there is a state park, with a nice boat launch, and I see people fishing from the bank a lot.
I don't recall the name, but if you keep going toward Montgomery from the bridge, there is a road to the right that will take you there. There is a road sign you can't miss.
It costs $5, and you pay at a little booth.

Good luck with whatever you do.

That is a National Forest boat ramp, Scott's Ridge. They do allow people to fish off the bank. If you decide you like it and start to go a lot I would suggest getting an annual pass. I think I paid $30 or $35 for it and you can get a second one for $10 more. It goes on a calender year. jan to dec.

Where do you bank fish on Conroe? I've been skunked more times than I want to admit. I guess the "good" part hmmm is other bank guys were skunked where I was.

Still can mess with your mind though. hammer fish

All fish are caught and released...some in the water and some in the grease.
