I haven't been to Ivie in a couple of weeks. Are the sand bass still trying to school up some between the Padgitt ramp and the river channel? I'm going to chasing the sandies for the most part, so any reports would be appreciated.

Philpot

Just head down by the pump station and you'll find PLENTY!!! I was there Father's Day weekend to chase black bass and we couldn't get away from them. I've never averaged 2# white bass before, but we didn't complain either. Also, I've never seen white bass push shad up on the bank until last weekend.

We caught them on spinnerbaits and smaller paddle tail swimbaits. I would have loved to had my ultra light gear and some road runners.

Good luck.

Heading that way tomorrow evening.
The white bass and crappie are stacked at the dam. They heat really turned them on the last few weeks. With the moon getting larger and the weather cooler, they may be scattered.

Had a friend that fished with his wife last Friday at the dam and they went through 4 dz minnows quickly.

Hey ya'all,
I have never been to this lake before. Where is a good place to stay near the lake and are there any good places to eat? I have been meaning to check it out.
Thanks,
EJW

ejw, there's a motel right by the entrance to Kennedy Park called Sportsman's Lodge. It's on FM 1929 on the southeast side of the lake. It's real close to the Elm Creek store, and you can get food, bait, lauch permits, ice, and other stuff right there.
