Early in the morning fish the Cypress trees and laydowns on the banks of the river with a Devil's Horse or Pop 'R' (Baby Bass) until around 9:00 then find lily pads and/or grass in 5' water or deeper and work with wacky worms (they love Zoom June Bug color) and flukes (watermelon seed with tail dyed chartreuse).

Can't be stressed enough, as others have said, take a good map and gps or at the very least a good compass and know how to use it. Keep up with where you are at all times and take a few extra drinks and snacks, just in case you do get turned around for awhile.

Almost forgot, just in case you don't know and you probably do. Be sure and wash your boat down good after you take out, before you hit another lake.

Put in at Crips Camp with a White Buzzbait and start fishing.. you can't go wrong... Washing that boat and trailer is the law by the way with the Giant Salivina Grass.. It will get you a fine if caught backing in the another lake with that on your trailer.. Have Fun

I will be there sunday. The slvania is pretty bad out there on Texas side. The grass should be nice and thick. FInd some of the grass next to deep water and put a heavy weight and start busting grass

Stop at the little store right next to the state park and get a mAP. All of the "lanes" of the lake are lined with numbered telephone poles. The poles are shown on the lake map. Coolest thing you'll ever see!

I went last summer for the first time and anxiously waiting to go back. It is a one of a kind lake! Definitely bring the GPS, and get a map from the store by the state park, if you cant hit, last year I launched at the state park and fished the river, take the government ditch. Have fun and stay safe!! Give us a fishing report!!
