I have to deal with a bunch of whiny babies when it come to planning trips for our club - they want cabins typically - *cheap* and with AC, and not much else. They refuse to camp (ever) and now that the State Park barraks aren't available, they haven't been back to POC.
I love the place and am a lot more flexible, so I have gone by myself, but I really want to to a trip and go beyond the breakers. I have been in Pass Cavallos (spelling?) and had a blast catching cobia and jacks and figure that going beyond the breakers has to be a bunch of fun, but don't think it prudent to do that solo.
Any suggestions as to where I might find accomodations to convince this bunch to join me?

Might try the Tarpon Inn, it is pretty cheap, and holds several people.

Check with Tigrett Real Estate. Before we bought in Rockport, we would lease houses from Tigrett. They were always easy to work with and had a large list of vacation rentals to choose from, from big nice houses to something close to what you are looking for. Check their web-site.

+1 on Tigrett Realty. Great staff and very helpful. They have some good places for rent right on the water - especially for groups. I would not go to anyone else there.

Tigrett is great. They do a real good job. Very good to me always.
Also, the Captains Quarters has some cabins. I have never heard any thing good about Tarpon Inn.
I know what you are thinking....and you're wrong!

Look up the Poco Loco. Mike can help you out. With a group, he should give you a reasonable rate. Mike can provide cooking accomidations too if necessary. There's a good lil pool hall, honkey tonk within walkin distance too.
