I have been going down to Port O'Connor for may years now and have several spots that I can choose from and most of the time can limit out on trout eventually. Last weekend I took some friends down and all we managed all day was one 17" flounder and the normal gafftops, ladyfish, whiting. Went to every one of my spots and nothing. Tide seemed to be moving most of the day - tried shell, mud grass, sand - shallow and deep. Croaker, artificials, shrimp...even Gulp! Did anyone else have this trouble there last weekend? Or did I just have bad timing?

did you fish the surf any?

we did not get there until around 8am.....went out around Saluria and Cavallo Pass first and the surf looked pretty rough.

Went down for a week during the 4th and it was horrible. Had one good morning on trout and that was it. Had tailing reds all over the place and couldn't get a look from them. Threw everything but the boat at em. Bay water is warm but looked good. Gonna wait a couple of weeks and try again.

yeah ive heard the surf has been rough lately im headed down thursday and cant wait hopefully our spots will hold out!
