well, forgot the camera again at the house, so no lake pics, but had a great time with the kids last night on Big Tex.
Headed out by the dam, talked to one of the game wardens at the ramp and he pointed me to a few tips that I already got from a friend on here. Good info though, and he was great talking to the kids.
Caught about 40 fish last night. I was too busy taking hooks out of fish to bother counting. I'd cast a line out and one of the kids would have one at the boat, so we'd end up swapping rods so I could get the fish off. We were in one school with another camo aluminum boat for about 45 minutes, just the two of us. There was fish everywhere around the boat, and my little girl was squeeling like a school girl (my son wants to leave the screamer at home next time :o)
Kept 9 fish, most were too small to keep, and we lost a few good ones at the boat.
fish were up non-stop from about 7-8 and they seemed to shut down right at 8PM, so we headed to a cove and jumped in. Kids doing cannon balls off the boat. Swam for a while and headed back toward the dam then my wife saw a school around the same camo boat we were with earlier. went and joined them again and that is where we caught our biggest fish of the day
My daughter, always the big fish girl (had the biggest one in the boat before we hit the last spot) I caught a fish abotu 17" and right after I get it in the boat, she hooks up to what I thought was an over, but it ended up just shy of 18", but fat as could be. She always catches the biggest fish on the boat. Son usually catches the most.
Those 2 17" fish was plum full of 3" shad. I had a handful when I was cleaning the largest one, and there was more shad than my hand could carry.
Great day on the water. I'll try to add pics tonight when I get them downloaded.
Son wants to go back tonight, but I told him his old man needs to catch up on sleep. 4hrs isn't enough sleep for me anymore. So, we're headed back up Thursday night. May look for the larger fish Thursday, instead of just the topwater bite. Either way, we'll have fun doing it.

I have to add.... I just went and picked up a couple of new chuggers since my daughter decided to confiscate mine along with my bait casting rod. I went to rety it and she wanted it back on her Zebco 33, but she was casting one of my shimano's (I was a little worried about her getting a bigun' and loosing that combo ) for about an hour yesterday. She told me that my rod and bait were catching all the fish, and it was time for her to catch up with me.
